We Review Chanel’s Spring Lip Palette

chanel lip palette

This year, Chanel celebrated the start of the spring season with a new makeup collection: the Le Blanc La Fleur Et L’Eau. In line with spring and rosy complexions, the fashion house has created a line of products to achieve that delicate, lit-from-within look we all covet. And there’s one particular product in the range we’ve been eyeing—the Camélias d’Eau Exclusive Creation Lip Palette (SGD102).

The limited-edition lip palette has four rosy shades inspired by the hues of spring: Exaltée (a bright fuchsia pink); New Prodigious (a shimmery, rosy plum); Palpitante (a pink-red); and Fougueuse (a slightly darker pink). The petal-inspired pigments are embossed like a camellia, the signature fleur of the French house. The palette even comes with a dense, synthetic lip brush for total precision.

The four lipsticks are very similar to the Rouge Allure Luminous lipsticks; they are just slightly less luminous and hydrating as compared to the regular lipsticks in the Rouge Allure line. But the shades made up for its less-emollient quality with the colour payoff and how long the colours lasted on the lips; the shades were almost-opaque at first swipe, and they lasted on the lips for several hours without the need to touch up.

How to use

One of the best things about the lip palette is its versatility: you can mix the shades to customise your own lipstick shade. You can line your lips with the lip brush for definition, or pat on your lips using your fingers for a just-kissed stain. Another great way is to dab on the cheeks and lids for a flattering monochromatic look. Throw it in your bag of the week; the palette even has a mirror for touching up on-the-go.
