The Sink-less Skincare Routine

It’s 10 pm on a weekday night and it’s time to go to bed. You’re curled up on your bed, after a long shower, which is perfectly fine. There’s still your skincare routine to go through or at least some sort of routine… But the bathroom feels too far away and the iPad is much closer—in bed. You just want to cleanse, tone, moisturise and go to sleep with minimal movement. You don’t really need a sink to do your routine, do you?
Welcome to a guide on the sink-less skincare routine!
Start with removing your makeup. Enter makeup remover wipes— your best friend when you can’t find the energy to wash your face. Recommended ones include the Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes (SGD18) and Kopari Coconut Melt Cleansing Wipes (SGD34). If you aren’t a fan of facial wipes, you can try massaging a cleansing balm onto your face instead, like Clinique’s Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm (SGD55), and wipe with a cloth spritzed with water or facial mist.
Since this isn’t the best way to cleanse at all, saturate a cotton pad with micellar water (like the Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water, SGD33) and swipe gently across your face. Or you can try exfoliating toner pads which can help slough away any leftover dirt, like Pixi’s Glow Tonic To-Go Exfoliating Toner Pads (SGD30). And then pat on an essence (SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, SGD220, comes highly recommended) and finally, seal everything in with some moisturiser: Drunk Elephant’s Lala Retro Whipped Cream (SGD86) for those of you with dry skin, and Tatcha’s Water Cream (SGD101) for those with normal to oily skin types.
Granted, this shouldn’t be your skincare routine every night, but just for those occasions when you’re just too tired. What comes next is your entertainment program of choice, and then a good night’s sleep. All happening in the comfort of your bed—no bathroom, no water in sight.
