Sarah Sulaiman Shares Her Complete Model Beauty Routine
KL-based model Sarah Sulaiman shares the beauty tips she picked up while being a model and her favourite off-duty activity.

Born and raised in Malaysia, Sarah Sulaiman started modelling when she was 16 and have been walking runways for several local brands since.
“Of course, models travel a lot and it’s one of the reasons why I love modelling, apart from all the interesting people you meet and the connections you make,” Sarah tells BEAUBIT. “But another rather unusual reason is that I like the pressure modelling gives me; we have to stay fit and healthy to look good, and it honestly gives me the motivation to maintain my fitness and be more health-conscious.”
As a model, she knows a thing or two about making your beauty products work for you and looking your best with minimal effort. BEAUBIT gets Sarah to share the beauty tips she picked up while being a model and her favourite off-duty beauty activity.

The Model Beauty Secrets
“Use a cleansing oil or balm to remove makeup!” she emphasises. “It’s so much easier to remove everything and it’s gentler on the skin. And always, always, always remove your makeup before bed! It’s a huge no-no for me to sleep with your makeup on.”
“I’m also a stickler for putting on sunscreen, I can’t stress how important it is to protect our skin,” says Sarah.
Another thing Sarah has taught us is that some products are just not essential in a skincare routine if it doesn’t work for you: “I rarely use any toners since I have sensitive skin. My skincare routine is really simple: I cleanse twice a day, moisturise with a lightweight moisturiser in the day and a heavier one at night. And of course, SPF in the daytime.”
“Apply serum and moisturiser right after the shower when your skin is still damp; you’ll be able to lock in much-needed hydration!”

Of course, we also had to ask for any makeup tips she might have up her sleeves: “Try to keep your eyebrows looking as natural as possible, it really alters the face when it looks like they’re drawn on! And don’t wear waterproof mascara every day. The ingredients are much harsher than regular mascara and it can actually cause more damage to your lashes.”
And her favourite beauty ritual when she’s off-duty? “Sleeping! When it comes to beauty, sleep may be the closest thing there is to the fountain of youth. Your body repairs itself while you snooze and there’s a long list of benefits for your looks—brighter, more wide-awake eyes, and of course, healthier skin!”
