Saturday Skin’s 10% Glycolic Acid Toner for Glowy Skin
BEAUBIT gives you the lowdown on our current beauty obsession—Saturday Skin’s Pore Clarifying Toner with 10% Glycolic Acid.
If this brand looks familiar, it’s probably because you’ve seen the millennial-pink packaging placed on someone’s bathroom counter on your Instagram feed. South Korean brand Saturday Skin is far more than an Instagrammable brand though. The skincare line’s products are infused with a unique complex called CHA-7 es complex. The patented peptide formula is designed to promote your skin’s natural regeneration — basically resulting in clearer, brighter, smoother skin.
The brand’s Pore Clarifying Toner is one of our current beauty obsessions; a clarifying facial toner with 10% glycolic acid, it helps to break down dead cells on the skin’s surface. The result is a brighter, more even complexion. The pore control complex of witch hazel, tea tree oil and red clover helps balance the skin while making sure to keep it hydrated.
If you’re on the lookout for an AHA product that works, this one’s for you.
Why we’re obsessed:
This is a toner that really does what it says: clear up pores and exfoliate for brighter, clearer skin. It’s a pretty potent formula, which might be a little much if you have sensitive skin, but mine loved it.
I used it in the evening after cleansing, lingering in areas that I feel need more attention (mainly my T-zone). There is a slight citrusy fragrance that isn’t overpowering. I did experience a little tingling the first few times, but I think my skin has since adjusted.
After regularly using it for about a month, my skin has gotten smoother and looks more even. Those pesky little bumps on the chin have diminished, and the larger pores around my nose have shrunken a little too. This has even seemed to keep my premenstrual acne at bay (yay!).
How to use
The level of glycolic acid is stronger than what we would normally use daily, but not so high you need to rinse it off. The label on the back suggests using it only 3 to 5 times a week and I would agree! Saturate a cotton pad and swipe it gently across the face after cleansing, avoiding the eye area.
