Known affectionately as Minkie to her Instagram followers, Saowakon Pornpatanarak (@minkie_mk) has undeniable style. Apart from her enviable ability to mix and match pieces, an extensive wardrobe of old Celine, Minkie is also one of Thailand’s most prominent entrepreneurs; she is one of the creative forces behind Do Day Dream, the manufacturer and distributor of Thai popular skincare brand Namu Life Snail White.

The entrepreneur and working mother shares with BEAUBIT on work-life balance, beauty and style.

Your skin is amazing! What’s your typical skincare like?

Recently I’ve been into brands like Pai and Oxe’cure, and yes, I do use my Snail White products. Currently, I’m trying out Sunday Riley.

How do you think beauty and fashion complement one another?

Both are inseparable—they can stand on their own but are better together.  Beauty enhances fashion in a better way.

Do you have any beauty secrets to share with new moms like yourself?

I had a lot of postnatal acne, and my friend suggested to me to use normal saline solution to cleanse my face and it worked very well. It helps kill bacteria on your skin and yet, it’s still very gentle.

What does beauty mean to you?

To feel beautiful in your own way.

How do you maintain a work-life balance?

I work a lot, but I try to take breaks by travelling when I have time. Honestly, everything about fashion helps me relax each day, and recently I’ve got my daughter to balance out my time too.

Do you have any advice for women looking to venture into their own businesses?

You have to be confident that you can do it, but the most important thing is to make it happen by starting right now! Women are stronger and can be better entrepreneurs than men.
