Tried & Trusted: Marc Jacobs Beauty Coconut Lip Oil

Since Marc Jacobs Beauty’s debut in 2013, the brand has managed to elevate the hero ingredient of their Coconut Collection. A staple in our kitchens, it’s now found in most skincare products. If you haven’t heard, coconut is a great skincare ingredient, which is why many brands have been releasing coconut-centric products. Coconut oil itself is very nourishing since it’s so rich in Vitamin E.

For Spring 2020, Marc Jacobs Beauty has released new products to their Coconut lineup, and we’re loving their Re(cover) Hydrating Coconut Lip Oil (SGD44). Not to mention the exquisite sleek white and frosted packaging, of course.

As someone dealing with chapped lips all the time (thank you eczema!), I had high hopes for the Re(cover) lip oil. And I have to say, it impressed me right off the bat. For a product containing 5 forms of coconut and vitamin E, it’s notably lightweight and non-sticky. If you’re not a fan of lip glosses and the hair-sticking-to-mouth situation, this is for you. Wearing this in an air-conditioned office also left my lips comfortably hydrated and soft, without the thickness you could get from other lip oils.

To test it out even further, I swapped out my trusty Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask for the Re(cover) lip oil, leaving it on overnight. Imagine my surprise waking up to soft, hydrated lips without a trace of peeling skin!

The best part? The Re(cover) lip oil is so much more travel-friendly than a jar of coconut oil from the grocery store.

How to use

The Re(cover) lip oil comes in only one shade — Kissability. It’s a clear shade that can be worn either on bare lips as a uber-hydrating gloss, as a lip balm before your lipstick, or glossed over any lip colour already in your collection.
