Brighten Your Eyes with La Mer
La Mer is a brand that is simultaneously luxe and of cult-status. The story of La Mer began half a century ago, when aerospace physicist and founder Dr. Max Huber became the victim of a serious accident in his laboratory. It led to severe burns on his face. He dedicated 12 years of his life to healing his skin. Ultimately, he created the nutrient-rich Miracle Broth, the miraculous ingredient found in most of La Mer’s skincare products.
One of the brand’s cult-favourites is the La Mer The Lifting Eye Serum (SGD400), an anti-ageing serum that firms up the under-eye area and deflates puffiness. The scentless, clear serum uses the Miracle Broth and the Stretch Matrix Complex, which is a blend that includes red algae and kelp gel to tighten and lift skin. It even comes with a cooling applicator—rounded on one side, flat on the other.
Why we’re obsessed:
It really works. The price tag is rather steep, but we found that it did what it promised. The luxe serum is like a ‘mini-lift’ treatment in a bottle. After a few weeks of usage, you’ll notice that the silky eye serum has visibly uplifted and rejuvenated your under-eye area, lightening your dark eye circles. Plus, we love its light texture that absorbed quickly—perfect for Singapore’s humidity. It was still hydrating enough for those with dry skin.
How to use:
Keep the applicator in the refrigerator; use it when it’s still cool to the touch for extra smoothing and contouring results. With the round side of the applicator, cool and stimulate the skin around the eyes. Dab the serum onto the skin with your ring finger before using the flat side of the applicator to delicately massage it in.
Pro tip: You can use it along with the La Mer Concentrate (SGD820) for added rejuvenation. The milky white elixir has the highest concentration of Miracle Broth compared to all the other La Mer products. Just like The Lifting Eye Serum, it visibly lifts and lightens any dark spots.
