Cher Bai’s Restful Routine At Home
For many, daily outdoor activities have ceased and social distancing becomes paramount. During these times, it’s essential to remember that you are not stuck at home but instead, safe at home.
While you’re adjusting to the new norm, why not take the time to give yourself some extra care? It helps keep anxiety at bay, but it’ll also help you remain healthy and keeping busy whilst laying low. BEAUBIT speaks to Toronto-based digital content creator Cher Bai @chermycloset for her self-care tips and stay-at-home beauty routine.
The Skincare Routine
Cher has always been devoted to skincare; her earliest memory of beauty was her mother telling her how skincare should start as early as her twenties. “You’d surprised by how fast your skin will wear and tear after years of stress, lack of sleep and sun damage,” says the 29-year-old. “One thing I’ve learned over the years is that you need to pay attention to how your skin is changing and adjust your products accordingly.”
Now that she is staying home, she spends more time on her skincare routine. Starting with makeup remover and cleanser, before moving on to toner, serum, face oil, eye serum and eye cream, moisturizer, and finally, lip balm. Her current favourite skincare product? The Pola B.A. Grandluxe II (SGD1068), an anti-ageing serum with rose, marjoram, and yarrow extracts that stimulate cell growth, shrink pores and help even out the complexion.
Cher’s skincare tip: “Hydration is key. Sometimes when you break out, it’s because your skin is dehydrated, which causes extra sebum production and inflammation.”
Self-care while social distancing?
There are various ways to practice self-care while staying home: meditation, whipping up something in the kitchen, or even watching a Netflix series. “Take a bath,” suggests Cher. “I always try to take a bath at least once a week to relax, meditate and recharge.”
“It’s really important to take a break and recharge your body. Also don’t forget to exfoliate your body—and face—once a week.”
