In the coming days, it’s likely that we’re going to be spending a lot more time at home. And while some might take this time to be a welcome respite, it can be stressful for others—being surrounded by family 24/7, tending to children while working from home, or living alone and feeling isolated.

Since we’re spending more time at home, what can we do to brighten the aura of our homes? How can we raise the energy in our living spaces so that they are more enjoyable to be in?

Everything is made of energy and has its own unique vibration, including you. When something vibrates at a lower frequency, it feels heavy, whereas things vibrating with a higher frequency feel lighter and more at ease, physically and emotionally. When your vibration and frequency is low, you risk being drained energetically, and emotionally blocked by negative vibes. Your space is an extension of yourself, so it is crucial to raise the energy in our living spaces in order to be vibrating at a high level mentally, physically and spiritually.

Here are some of our tips to clear out old energy and raise positive vibrations.

Practise morning gratitude

Start your morning right with positive thoughts and deep breathing. Think about two things you are thankful for in life, sit up and do a full breath cycle: Begin by taking a normal breath and then take a deep breath. Breathe in slowly through your nose, letting your chest and lower belly expand, and then breathe out slowly. This deep breathing allows your brain and body to be flush with oxygen for immediate rejuvenation.

Being in a state of gratitude is a great way to shift your energy. When you show true appreciation for what you have, you enter a state of love and raise your energy.

You can also open the windows to allow air flow throughout the space as you move around.

Nurture a relationship with nature

Keeping plants around the house is a great way to bust that midday slump. Nature is visual invigoration in itself and its complimentary tranquil effects reduce any stress greatly.

Don’t forget to take short breaks from work; one great way to do so is to go for a walk downstairs. Surrounding yourself with fresh greenery allows you to feel connected with nature. This state of calm then encourages continued focus for you to finish up any work left for the day.

Movement and relaxation

Stretching and relaxation always go hand in hand. Be it yoga or running, remember to engage your muscles and be aware of which part of your body you are using. You might just be surprised as you discover new muscles you have never been in tune with before! Remember to finish your workouts by stretching your body to promote blood circulation. And right before a workout, treat yourself to a long shower or a soak in the bath, and your self-care ritual so you come full circle with your energy.

Just remember that relaxation, happiness, and joy are high-frequency feelings. Your outside world reflects your inside world, so this is a great time to heal your energy and recharge.
